Everybody on the Floor: Floorwork Focus

Description, lesson focus and goals:
Curious about getting on the floor during your act? In Floorwork Focus we’ll spend 75 minutes learning how to gracefully get onto and back up from the floor for varied ability levels. Bijoux will guide you through raunchy choreography while teaching you practical floor paths for your own act creation. Along the way, we’ll explore when we should incorporate floorwork, what venues best accommodate it and how we could perform reveals during floorwork choreography.

Learning objectives:
Participants will acquire eight or more floorwork skills. Participants will apply floorwork skills to a short choreographed routine. Participants will categorize safe “going down” and “coming up” methodologies. Participants will identify when and where floorwork choreography can be performed.

Participants must bring clothes and footwear that is comfortable for them to move in and a water bottle. Socks, legwarmers and kneepads are recommended but not required. Bijoux will be bringing extra legwarmers to double as kneepads should folks need them.
