For over 20 years, Lady Drew Blood has used her skills as a costume designer, illustrator, and visual merchandiser to burlesque performance to create innovative stage concepts that leave audiences wondering, "Wow, How'd she dream that up?!" In this presentation, Drew will answer that question by offering a peek into her creative process. Using examples from her own act repertoire, she'll share how she gathers and organizes inspiration from various sources; how she crafts innovative removal techniques and adds inventive details that help convey character; and how she designs her costumes to make sure the concept is clear from head to toe. Drew's tips and tricks will help you kickstart your own design journey, and give even the most seasoned designers new methods to tell strong stories through costume.
